American Folk: Charlie Poole/North Carolina Ramblers



Old time banjo player Charlie Poole, front man of the North Carolina Ramblers, was one of the earliest stars of the old-time scene back in the 1920s. As the Poole became an influence on the founding fathers of American bluegrass. Their tune "Don't Let Your Deal Go Down" became a country-folk standard in the late '20s.
