So I’m driving down the road listening to Mendelssohn’s “The Scottish Symphony" and the very end of the piece sounds exactly like Sgt. Barry Sandler’s “The Green Beret”…exactly like it.
So what does that tell us?
Yep, that Scottish guy stole Barry Sandler’s song.
(Actually the song was arranged by the legendary film music composer Ken Darby. Darby also arranged Elvis Presley’s hit “Love Me Tender” which borrowed from an old civil war song “Aura Lee”  because it was public domain.)
