‘The Funeral Of The Beat Generation’, 1961 - Fred W. McDarrah.

In the apartment (85 Christopher Street) of Robert Cordier (center, talking with James Baldwin) guests gather to discuss ‘The Funeral Of The Beat Generation,’ New York, January 23, 1961.

I spent several years reading and writing about the Beat Writers until, looking them over, I came to realize not only were most of them self-centered and limited, but they also just weren’t very good at what they professed to be. I think, I wonder if they weren’t hyped up by English professors if the bulk of them would still be around at all.
