Meanwhile, in West Virginia....

This is the Mecklenburg Chapel (AKA The Old English/ Episcopal church and cemetery.) in the town I live in West Virginia The adjoining cemetery, which they say has its own ghost, contains the graves of several revolutionary war soldiers. The building has housed all sorts of enterprises over the many decades. The stone church replaced a wooden building that stood here in the 1740s. The stone building was completed in 1769 as a chapel, then a full church. It housed the African Episcopal Church, it was a hospital building during and after the battle of Antietam, then it was a courthouse, a Freemen school and the home of the African Methodist Church. For a while, the building was the studio for the short-lived TV series “The Ghosts of Shepherdstown” (Or something like that)
